This is a very satisfying song and a pretty quick teach; it feels empowering and grounding to sing in a group.

I wrote this song on the night before the 2020 presidential elections. I was preparing, with other folks in my neighborhood, to be present at polling places in support of people have a smooth and un-harassed voting experience… we were all hoping things would be peaceful. And I was thinking, what about the day after the “storm”? How will we keep showing up for the long haul? And this is the song that came out of that. I often only teach the first three parts but adding the “tenor” line is very fun!
