This song came through during the uprisings in the wake of George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis in 2020, as a hope/reminder to myself and my community that we were made for these times, and we will rise to meet the road we’re on. It’s a four-part song but really it has two main layers, each harmonized – I’ve often taught it just as a two-part song, with just the melody and the first harmony part.
