This three-part song is satisfying to sing and fairly intuitive to learn, a bit more of a “teach” than some of my songs as it has an A-part and a B-part.

It was inspired by an experience I had while tromping around in the deep-snow winter woods at Cedar Creek, trying to find the creek I knew was somewhere in the valley, trusting my feet to feel and follow the slight downhill towards the water… and then I stepped through the ice and that’s how I found it! (don’t worry, I didn’t get hypothermia or anything) I was also thinking about how nearby, eagles were gathering at the places on the Mississippi River that stay ice-free all winter – how wise they are to find the open water together.
